Terms of Service
By installing and using the Mira mobile app ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What Mira is
Mira is a self-reflection tool that uses AI to help you observe your own patterns. It is:
- A mirror — it names structures in your writing
- A question-asker — it gives you reflection prompts
- An archive — it tracks how your personality picture evolves over time
Mira is not:
- Medical or therapeutic treatment
- Crisis intervention
- A substitute for professional mental health care
- A replacement for human relationships or peer support
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Mira. By using the app, you confirm you meet this age requirement.
If you are under 18 and the laws of your jurisdiction require parental consent for use of mobile apps or AI services, you confirm you have such consent.
3. How you may use the app
You may use Mira for personal, non-commercial self-reflection. You may:
- Answer prompts honestly or skip them
- Share your insights, profile, or images by your own choice
- Long-press a question to recommend it to the community pool
- Cancel, reset, or delete the app at any time
You may not:
- Submit content that violates laws or harms others
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the AI service
- Submit spam, advertising, or harmful content via the "Recommend to community" function
- Use automated tools to flood the service (rate limits apply)
- Impersonate the app or its developer in any official channel
4. Content you submit
When you long-press a question and tap "Recommend to community", you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Store the question text and metadata in our community pool
- Display it (after moderation) to other users with a "✦ Community" label
You retain all rights to the text of your answers, but answers are never uploaded, so this is mostly hypothetical — your answers stay on your device.
We may remove community-submitted content at any time at our discretion (especially content that violates §3).
5. AI-generated content
The questions, insights, summaries, experiments, and other AI-generated text in Mira are produced by a third-party AI service (currently DeepSeek). We do not guarantee:
- The accuracy or applicability of any AI output to your specific situation
- That AI output is free of mistakes or hallucinations
- That AI insights are equivalent to professional psychological analysis
Treat AI output as a mirror, not as advice. Form your own conclusions.
6. Service availability
Mira is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We may:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
- Pause or limit service during outages, maintenance, or rate-limited periods
- Change AI providers (this may slightly change output style)
We will give reasonable notice for breaking changes when possible.
7. Subscription and payment
Mira offers paid subscriptions for premium features:
- All payments are processed through Apple's App Store
- Apple's standard subscription terms apply (auto-renewal, cancellation rules, etc.)
- Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Our total liability for any claim related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not responsible for decisions you make based on AI output
9. Termination
You may stop using and delete Mira at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to certain features (such as the community pool) if you violate these terms.
Deleting the app permanently removes all your data from your device. We retain nothing.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will:
- Update the date at the top
- Notify you in-app on next launch
- For significant changes, request you re-accept
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
