Terms of Service
By installing and using the Vista mobile app ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What Vista is
Vista is a news comprehension and reflection tool that uses AI to help you understand what's happening in the world and train your read on events. It is:
- A daily reader — curated news cards from public RSS sources, with short summaries and AI analysis
- A questioner — Today's Five Questions, Daily Question, and per-article Q&A help you think, not scroll
- A lens — six-part analysis cards (background, who's involved, why it matters, impact, etc.) to give context
Vista is not:
- A news source or publisher — Vista links back to original sources
- Real-time breaking-news alerts — Vista is intentionally daily and calm
- Investment, medical, legal, or public-safety advice
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Vista. By using the app, you confirm you meet this age requirement.
If you are under 18 and the laws of your jurisdiction require parental consent for use of mobile apps or AI services, you confirm you have such consent.
3. How you may use the app
You may use Vista for personal, non-commercial learning. You may:
- Read news cards, AI analysis, and answer quizzes
- Ask follow-up questions on articles (Premium feature)
- Enable or disable cloud backup of your learning history
- Cancel, reset, or delete the app at any time
You may not:
- Use Vista to redistribute news content commercially
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or abuse the AI service
- Use automated tools to flood the service (per-hour rate limits apply)
- Use Vista in any way that violates applicable laws
4. AI-generated content
News analysis cards, Sensemaking answers, Today's Five Questions, and Daily Question responses are produced by a third-party AI service (currently DeepSeek). We do not guarantee:
- The accuracy or completeness of any AI output
- That AI output is free of mistakes, biases, or hallucinations
- That AI analysis is equivalent to professional journalism, finance, legal, or medical advice
Treat AI output as a starting point, not a final source. For decisions that matter, refer to original sources and qualified professionals.
5. News content and copyright
Vista aggregates publicly available news via RSS/Atom feeds and displays titles, short summaries, source attributions, publish times, and links back to the original source. Original analysis cards are AI-generated by Vista for learning purposes.
Vista does not redistribute full article text. All news content rights remain with the original publishers. Rights holders may contact us at mira-vista@mira-vista.com to request removal or correction of any specific item.
6. Service availability
Vista is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We may:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
- Pause or limit service during outages, maintenance, or rate-limited periods
- Change AI providers (this may slightly change output style)
We will give reasonable notice for breaking changes when possible.
7. Subscription and payment
Vista's free tier lets you browse the news list. Premium features (six-part analysis, follow-up questions, Today's Five Questions) require a paid subscription:
- All payments are processed through Apple's App Store
- Apple's standard subscription terms apply (auto-renewal, cancellation rules, etc.)
- Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings
- If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, use "Restore Purchases" in Settings to recover your subscription status
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Our total liability for any claim related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not responsible for decisions you make based on AI output or news interpretation
9. Termination
You may stop using and delete Vista at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to certain features if you violate these terms.
Deleting the app permanently removes all your on-device data. To remove cloud-backup data, turn off cloud backup or use the "Delete account" option in Settings.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will:
- Update the date at the top
- Notify you in-app on next launch
- For significant changes, request you re-accept
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
